A Royal Day Out in Deal
Back
What an absolutely unforgettable day we had in Deal. It was one truly for the history books, as we were incredibly fortunate to catch a glimpse of His Majesty The King.
Our royal adventure began with a fascinating visit to Deal Castle, exploring its rich history before taking a leisurely stroll down to the iconic Deal Pier. The coastal air was fresh, and the views were simply stunning.
To top off the afternoon, we couldn’t resist treating ourselves to delicious ice creams perfect for cooling down as we listened to the waves and watched the bustling seafront.
We then visited the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and we were treated to some magnificent music played by the HM Royal Marines at the bandstand. One of our local teachers shared how, each year, the town comes together to hear the Royal Marines play and to remember those who have lost their lives—a tradition that brings the community closer and adds such meaning to the day.
And then, for a moment that will surely be recounted for generations, Two of the students actually managed to say hello to The King. A truly treasured memory that I'm sure will fuel countless stories in the years to come.
