In June we made 3 gloriously sunny trips to Sandwich, each trip with different year groups.  The objective was for our students to familiarise themselves with Sandwich Town Centre and the new school site, ‘Manwood Lodge’, in advance of our exciting move there in the next academic year. 

Beginning at the historic Sandwich Guildhall, the younger groups were supported around ‘The Sandwich Trail’, using orientation and literacy skills to complete the quiz and find the location of the fictional ‘Black Pearl’.  

The older group of students were free to explore the area, returning several times to a central point of St Peter’s Church gardens where staff were situated, developing their navigational and independence skills.   

All age groups enjoyed finding their way around the lanes and the shops taking in the sights, sounds, nature, waterways and history of Sandwich, this exemplary Tudor town right on our new doorstep!
